There is[are] ～. の文

「不特定の名詞がある」という時にThere is 不特定の名詞 ～. といいます。
※名詞が複数形の時にはareを使います。

(例文)
There is a book on the desk. (机の上に(１冊の)本があります。)
There are two books on the desk. (机の上に２冊の本があります。)

（例文）
Is there a book on the desk? (机の上に(１冊の)本がありますか。)

Yes, there is.　　　No, there isn't.
(はい、あります。)(いいえ、ありません。)


否定文

（例文）
There isn't a book on the desk. (机の上に本はありません。)
